Different Walk, Same Reasons

The world may look a little different right now, but one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to ending Alzheimer’s. This year, Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is everywhere — on every sidewalk, track and trail.

Your health and safety are our top priorities. We won’t have a large in-person gathering — instead, we invite you to walk in small teams of friends and family while others in your community do the same. Because we are all still walking and fundraising for the same thing: a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.

Unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions. Join our team for the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer's disease. Together, we can advance research to treat and prevent Alzheimer's, and provide programs and support to improve the lives of millions of affected Americans.

Why We Walk:
In 1994, Jimmy Buffett's father, James Delaney Buffett, Jr. was stricken with Alzheimer's disease and passed away at age 83 in May of 2003. It was then that many Parrot Head clubs elected to do something as a tribute to Jimmy's father. Our PHiP chapters not only support Alzheimer's to honor Jimmy's father but because we're seeing this devastating plague insinuate itself into our own ranks. So as Jimmy says: we are "plowin' straight ahead, come what may!"  Walk on Space Coast Parrotheads!!!
